  1. What is your character name? Blaze Sinclair What is your Discord username? blazy#1111 Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? I am a strategic thinker that works well in groups and has strong communication abilities. I believe in making great improvements in the community and trying to keep it safe. I've been in the city for a long time and have a reasonable understanding of how it seems from a criminal perspective, which I want to put to good use. Because I spend the most of my time as a police officer dealing with criminals, I am convinced that my knowledge will help me get to be a better officer who can better serve the community. In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? Jurisdiction for state is all around the state where you respond to crimes anywhere at any time. For local law enforcements that's different because they only enforce the law within the city. Duties you except from SAHP to perform are for example checkpoints, DUI, issue citations / speeding tickets and carry out general policing. The Highway Patrol are more professional, efficient, more expierenced and are held to a higher standard compared to other agencies in and around Lucid city. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? My priority would be preservation of life, because making sure the hostage is safe is more important than catching the ones involved and that can still be done after taking care of the hostage. During a situation like this I would make sure no harm happens to the hostage by meeting the demands the hostage takers ask for. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? I would have a private talk with my Corporal and set things straight between us so we can do our duty with no problems in the future. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? If there's multiple people chasing the armed felons I'll break off the chase temporarily and check upon the civilian, to make sure everything is fine, after that I attach back to the chase. If I'm the only one in the chase I would continue on and making sure I catch the armed felons, knowing that the civilian is perfectly fine. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? I would directly go to the active 99, because it's the first prioritiy. An officers life is more important than a bank so I would make sure everything is okay. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? I would first tell on radio I'm pulling someone over, then I would make sure the driver is licensed. After that I would request a K9 unit to smell the car, if the K9 smells something that gives me probable cause to search the car. I would ask all suspects in the vehicle to step out in order to frisk them and to search after if needed. If there is drugs in the car I would get additional units to arrest the suspects and bring them to the station in order to charge them. If the vehicle were to flee upon sight of me, it would lead into a active 80 which would give me probable cause to search the vehicle. Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
