  1. What is your character name? Justin Case What is your Discord username? SlippityPoobah Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? I am interested in joining the SAHP because I am wanting to help this awesome community. I inspire to be a standup police officer and give the people of the city a fair and fun RolePlay experience. The values I believe that are the core to this department and community is honesty, professionalism, trust and responsibility. Building honesty and trust with the police and the community is the huge foundation in keeping the community together and safe. I am also very dependable, honest, and predictible. You can always count on me to do my job and follow the chain of command. I can also be trusted to be responsible when apart of the department and community to allow players to roleplay the scenes and we are to support their roleplay so that they have the fullest RP experience. A shortlist of things I am to bring to the department is a level of professionalism, discipline, honesty, integrity, the ability to problem solve with minimal supervision, and above all else a personality that the people will trust when they're right, and fear when they're wrong. *My cousin has worked in EMS since January and has interacted quite a bit with Law Enforcement so I have an idea of how to behave and how things are done, at least while suspects are in custody. In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? The LCPD (local) is responsible for the enforcement of Law and Order throughout Lucid City. They are what separates the good from the evil. The SAHP has the same taks as local law enforcement with also patrolling and making sure the highways of the entire country remain safe. The LCPD is tasked with both protecting those that cannot protect themselves, and apprehend those that would bring chaos into the city. They should be looked upon as a beacon of light in the darkness, projecting integrity, safety, and honesty in their actions, as well as growing and maintaining a civil relationship with it's citizen's it's sworn to protect. I believe the LC Law Enforcement agencies in the city, are the glue that holds the city together. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? Always preservation of life. Property can be replaced, or insured. People cannot be. Criminals can always potentially be caught later. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? I would follow the SOP while at the same time following the chain of command if needed to escalate to a higher authority. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? I would refer to training/SOP on how to respond. Personal thoughts: -End the pursuit because it is getting dangerous. or -Since no property damage or injuries, I would at least try to radio someone to contact EMS to roll to the scene to check for injuries that arent visible. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? I would do whatever the SOP/Training advises. Having been in EMS, I would assume I would drop everything and respond to the panic alarm immediately. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? First, refer to SOP/Training. (without being a LEO before) I would make sure I had PC to make the traffic stop. I would then call for backup as this was a call in of potential narcotics trafficing it could be a volatile situation. When safe, approach the vehicle and make contact with the driver, ask for ID and other required information, ask questions... "where you going", "where are you coming from", what are you doing in the area", etc. I would look for any inconsistinces or slurred speech, smell of narcotics, etc. If the vehicle flees, I would immediately call it out over radio and initate a pursuit. Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
