Instead of working for city or county state police works for state as a name suggests... state police also has larger jurisdiction... my main duty would be patrolling highway... u would need to be critical thinker to me good state police... u also gonna need patience and strong moral character... What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? I think they are equally important, since our main duty is to protect civilians we should make sure that those who are in danger are safe.... but also its important to catch criminal to prevent farther endangerment of other civilians... While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? If our encounters interfere our duty I would take it to higher ups... but if it's not I would just ignore it.... While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? Since I had my lights and sirens on I would just keep pursuit going.... While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? I would ho to panic alarm.. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? I would ask him to step out on the sidewalk and request k9 on scene.. if he flees I would pursuit vehicle and if we arrest him search him and his car... I dont like criminal I think it makes city to chaotic and I want to stop it.... first day I got into city I was robbed... they even took my skateboard... but after i got my gun license and i could protect myself I've shot 5 robbers and turned them in to police (3 in one occasion and 2 in other) In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. State law enforcement deals with crimes that were committed on state level they also handle crimes committed at places where is no local law enforcements... local law enforcements deal with crimes committed in their county.. highway patrol is mainly created to enforce traffic safety compliance on highways and main roads... to be a highway patrol u need to be good driver with good reflexes.. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? Life is priority... couse they are probably doing crime for money not to harm anyone but if they are putting other people's lives in danger capturin6or neutralizing them would be priority... I would bring this issue to the higher ups... couse being police officer u are trusting ur life with other officers and having personal issues is not good... I would leave few officers on scene to make sure hostage gets away alive and everyone else goes to officer... officer who arrives on scene first gives us information about scene if its 10-4 we will return to a bank except of few officers who will make sure that officer is safe. I would call k9 unit since as well as few 77s I have reasonable suspicion that guy might have drugs if he flees I would pursue him ...
