Stealing Cop Cars

So I recently got banned for one day because I took an unlocked cop car for a joy ride, the ban is fine I understand I broke a rule and had to be punished, I was unaware of the rule and the admins where understanding. My problem is that some idiot cop left his car in a public place unlocked and hes just immune to having it stolen? that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and frankly its quite unfair. Were going for realism right? So please tell me how I can get my car stolen if I make the same mistake as that cop did and thats fine but if I do it to a cop its a BANNABLE offense. Cops get enough privilege's as is including but not limited to: Better firearms, tazers, helicopters, some of the fastest cars (I went from 0-100 in a little over 4 seconds in the car I stole and it was just a ford.) Immunity to kidnapping, robbery and I could keep going. I know we are suppose to fear the police and I get why they have those previously mentioned privileges, with that being said that still shouldnt make them not have to suffer the consequences of their actions and mistakes. Oh you didnt lock your car and it got stolen? Thats on you. Oh you left your locked car unattended in an unsecure location and it got lock picked and stolen? Thats on you, not me. If it can happen to me it can happen to you. Why couldnt my situation be RP'd out? I knew id probably get caught by a cop and thought I was going to get charged and thats fine or I escape. I love this server, and im even a whitelisted member but take a look at nopixel, they RP situations like mine, not just throw down the ban hammer, you guys want realism and more RP scenarios right? its a literal golden opportunity to have more of what you want, believe it or not cop cars actually do get stolen IRL. I dont want this to be something for the admins to discuss, I want this to be left up to the community and if admins want they can cast vote too but in the end majority should win. Just remember at the end of the day, win or lose it doesnt matter to me, ill still play, I just found a silly rule and im trying to get it changed and despite having been told by an admin that most likely nothing will happen, I still have faith in this community and the owners to do the right thing and take this vote seriously.

I understand that receiving an infraction is mildly irritating, though when it comes to the points you make, there are reasons that the theft of law enforcement and emergency vehicles are against our community policy. (1) This is after all a public server, people that steal vehicles from law enforcement tend to be trolls a majority of the time in my experience, allowing it would most likely just forward that. In a perfect world it wouldn't be a problem to allow this, but since you speak about realism, where realistically would anyone steal a cop car repeatedly to mess with the police? (2) You talk about law enforcement having overpowered firearms, well... let me tell you something... it can be countered as the criminal side has more weapons than you know of, also... when would a civilian have more resources than an entire department of trained law enforcement officers? (3) The law enforcement vehicles, they are a bit overboard at times, I agree, though to a certain extent they are always going to be a little bit better as its supposed to be difficult to pull stuff such as bank robberies off, it is not supposed to be easy like stealing candy. (4) You complain about immunity from being robbed as law enforcement, that policy is there for a reason and that is the fact that allowing it would result in that specific thing being constantly and repeatedly abused by the same individuals over and over again, we have tried this, and it definitely did not work well, which is why the policy was repealed in the past, also... when would anyone ever walk up to a on-duty law enforcement officer to rob them realistically? Criminals and organized criminals want to avoid detection by law enforcement, walking up to one will result in detection, and will most likely result in a manhunt that will definitely result in the capture of such person. Of course we are looking to improve on everything gradually over time as everything improves and enhances, though you cannot compare a public server to a whitelisted server because one is a closed community with a selected player base, while one has a public and full on open player base where everyone may join and play. The statements you make kind of contradict themselves to a certain degree, though... allowing law enforcement vehicles to be stolen is probably not the biggest issue that would occur, though allowing criminals to rob law enforcement would be, that is one thing that will never be allowed due to the repeated abuse of that it would result in.

Thank you for your consideration, I would just like to make it clear that I was not complaining about their weapons nor was I saying we should be able to rob them, I have no issue with this and I only brought it up to show that they arent so hard done by and if anyone had the means to handle a vehicle theft its them but I mustve portrayed it in a way that was not intended so thats my bad, sorry for the misunderstanding. I only wanted to try and add more fun and RP not trying to say civs should have more power than police. You make alot of good points and youre right about the public server and trolls, so maybe when the whitelist comes back ill bring it up then with better explanations on how it could work, regardless I thank you for your swift response!

We always appreciate any suggestions. It means a lot when you bring your voice to the forum to bring any suggestion to the table. I know for a fact that the Admin team are always trying to think of different ways to improve those situations! Thanks for taking the time to tell us your concerns!
