What is the background of your character?

In high school, a handful of military recruiters held presentations about the opportunity to enlist immediately after graduation. Understandably, many of his classmates past the paper aside or declined taking it at all-
But Andy was invested. To enlist would mean he could get out of that shitty 'home' without having to worry about where he'd go, what he'd do for money... Especially since the pressure of dedicating his life to God and becoming a pastor was really ramping up the older he got. There was no chance someone was going to take him at this point and he accepted that a while ago, anyways...
Besides, the promised benefits after retiring was far too enticing to turn down. He spoke with the recruiter at the end of the presentation, and after a long discussion, the recruiter agreed to set something up with the home. From that point on, Andy began training with a group led by the recruiter. Every morning before school and all day on the weekends. He mostly kept to himself, but was a dedicated participant and was driven by the promise of a future that meant something- to him, anyways. That was probably the only reason Andy saw high school to the end, but it was more than worth it when he was seated in the waiting room for his ASVABS test, hands folded in his lap and knee bouncing nervously. In the end, Andy was presented with a variety of choices. His score wasn't all too bad, but the higher end positions seemed like they were over his head... Nothing too risky was necessary here, the main goal was to survive- if he could help it.

It took a lot more dwelling over than Andy anticipated. His choice even surprised himself, but there was something alluring to it that he couldn't quite place-
A pilot. An airforce pilot.
Andy never expressed much interest in planes before and the thought alone gave him the jitters for sure! Maybe that was what drew him in, too. The papers were signed anyways, so it was too late to change his mind whether he wanted to or not.

Andy ended up serving 10 years in the military. It was chaotic, it was scary, it was intense-
But it was probably more thrilling than anything else he could have been doing. The discipline he earned quite possibly saved his life. The internal turmoil didn't begin until he was discharged from the military, moving to Lucid City. Civilian life was something he never experienced... It was right from the home to basic. After basic, he was deployed. Needless to say, it was an enraging adjustment. Andy didn't struggle adapting before this. He hated the 9-5 life, society was insufferable and he was much more haunted by the things he witnessed than he ever cared to admit. All felt hopeless for quite some time. Andy was losing sleep, he was stressed and talk therapy didn't seem to help anymore. He found himself wishing he'd put in another 10 years, hell, he wished he'd enlisted for as long as he was legally allowed-
But now he had that good old PTSD diagnosis, and was barred from reentry.

The realization hit Andy like a train. He was just skimming the newspaper when he came across a listing for a few positions open for...
A pilot. A role to be a domestic pilot. For a long time, Andy simply stared at the paper with a clenched jaw. That seemed like such a simple answer, such an easy solution to this problem that had been eating him alive! Andy tucked the paper into his coat and finished his tasks for the day, but he just couldn't get that clipping out of his head. He had plenty of experience to prove he could fulfill the role, and it would give him that sense of familiarity he so desperately longed for.

Andy applied the next following morning.........

I'm interested in becoming a pilot because am able take the responsibilities that comes with the job title, I have also had previous experience flying and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
