Haven't seen the rule posted in here so figured I'd toss it in to point out a couple of my takes on it.

05.07: Your character should always be concerned about the value of his or her life. Should someone point a gun at your head, you are to comply with the instructions given by that individual regardless of what you believe or feel. Only exception to this policy is if you already have a firearm in your hand to counter the perpetrator’s instructions and directions. If you are vastly surrounded and outnumbered you should value your life regardless.

Another way I personally read this rule is:  "...Should someone point a gun at your head, you should listen to what they tell you to do unless you already have a firearm in your hand and trust your aim because you've practiced with your weapon and think you can get the one up on them....In any situation, if you're outnumbered, you'd best listen!"

There is a nuance and likely some issue with the way the rule is written vs. the way it's enforced from my observation.

    • What if the gun isn't pointed at my head?  I should still value the power of the weapon and it's projectiles being shot towards me right?  Or is there a chance the bullet will hit me without killing me (pass through GSW without critical organ damage) allowing me time to try to line up the shot against my aggressor?
    • What happens if I convince or trick the aggressor into lowering their weapon? By definition, I should be clear to engage them using whatever feasible means necessary to protect and preserve my life.
    • Everyone shouldn't be a crack shot unless they've spent time at the gun range or on the farm doing target practice.  Why then is taking the gamble such an egregious rule break?

There's risk in doing criminal activity - maybe the current rule caters to a "crim wins" outcome so that the setup and planning of the scenario doesn't go to waste because the aggressor's target was smarter or a better shot (because they'd practiced) than them.

    Exactly!
