  1. What is your character name? Max Sixsmith What is your Discord username? Le scon#0001 Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? I wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol for a multitude of reasons : ranging from new RP experiences and broadening my character as a whole. Policing RP and Law Enforcement RP has been a mostly unexplored path for me in Lucid and something I am really excited to try get involved in . Joining the SAHP would help me create more relations and connections with people I may not of interacted with on the crim side of the city which I think would be both great for me and the community. Becoming a Law Enforcement Personnel would give me new commitments in Lucid as a whole , letting me dedicate more time to expanding my RP choices and at the same time overall increase my standing within the community as at the end of the day people play the city to have fun, and I believe the SAHP would give me the tools necessary to do that , along with helping my discover an new side of the city. I believe my overall courageousness to try new things and put my all into them paired with some commitment would separate me from a majority of other candidates , with my long time spent in the city I'm somewhat familiar the basic operating procedures and expectations from a Trooper and Law Enforcement as a whole In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? From experiance , San Andreas Highway Patrol Officers have a unique justification in the city compared to other departments such as the Sheriff's Officer or LCPD mainly consisting of the Highway and Freeways , being optimised with the use of high speed pursuit vehicles and more specialised tactics. SAHP also have their own sub-divisions such as their own Trooper SWAT team specialised for quick responses using the highways. The LCPD's main jurisdiction is the city and the surrounding area's and the BCSO's jurisdiction being Sandy Shores and Blaine County and SAHP's being the highway and responding to any areas to any other officers in distress What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? In all situations, the preservation of life should be the main priority. There will always be another chance to catch a criminal, but there is not a chance to get back any lives lost. Especially in hostage situations, it is key for law enforcement officers to keep in mind that the main focus is and should remain as getting the person who has been taken hostage out in the most safe way as possible. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? In the even that an issue with a Corpral went beyond professional boundaries and it is believed that said Corpral had an issue with me, my best course of action would be to bring the situation to light with the next higher up in the chain of command. This would ensure that the situation is handled correctly while keeping things within the chain of command. Going to the next higher up would allow them to decide based on the evidence brought forward whether it is a situation that needs to be sent up the chain of common to be dealt with or if it can be handled by themself. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? In this situation, I would ensure that the civilian is completely without injury then continue with the pursuit. If there are multiple officers also in the pursuit, I would try to give the civilian my badge number to contact me after the pursuit is over so that I can assist with the payment for damages on the vehicle. If I were solo on the pursuit, I would unfortunately have to apologize and continue the pursuit if there are no visible injuries and damage. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? The situation is dependent on the number of officers responding to the bank and the number of units responding to the panic. If there are multiple units at the scene of the bank, some would need to break off to respond to the panic and some would remain at the bank. This is heavily dependent on the circumstances at hand, as both the bank robbery and the panic can result in loss of life. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? I would arrive on scene with my lights and sirens turned off to avoid spooking any possible criminals in the area , making sure they cannot flee before I arrive. As and when I arrive , I would attempt to pull over the vehicle for questioning as I have reasonable suspicion they are Involved in the narcotics trafficking however I do not have the right to search them as I do not have probable cause due to my lack of evidence I.e. seeing a handoff. I could briefly detain the suspect however due to my reasonable suspicion. If they suspect is to flee , I would begin chasing the suspect with lights and sirens due to them fleeing the scene and I would request for some additional units to help me . Due to the suspects fleeing from the scene this would give me the right to search them if they pulled over or their vehicle was disabled in the chase due to them fleeing officers Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
