  1. What is your character name? Jack Kane What is your Discord username? Blake#7576 Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? I am looking to gain valuable experience with an agency that considers themselves to be an elite and competent force in all aspects of policing aswell as committed to public safety by providing resources essential to sustain healthy and secure communities in San Andreas. Some aspects that separate me from other candidates is my ability to communicate and handle difficult situations and mediate any problems that come my way in a fast and efficient time. I would consider myself to be very level headed individual and nonpartisan in most cases but for sure not perfect in anyway and always strive to better myself and others around me by learning new knowledge and educating others. In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? Law enforcement agencies here in the United States all have their own responsibilities and jurisdictions. The difference between SASP and LCPD are the following The San Andreas State Police SASP covers the entire "State" of San Andreas while the Lucid City Police Department LCPD has a jurisdiction within the city limits. I believe personally that the SASP have a lot more funding and man power and training to better handle a different style of policing than the city police. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? My priority in the situation would be to protect the preservation of life being that if someone was taken hostage my focus would be on making sure that person is safe and secure and checking if they have any warrants out for them. There is always ways to catch a criminal later not saving a life after the fact. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? I would address the situation to my superior letting them know that me and a corporal had a few negative run ins and that personally I have no issue with the corporal. I would explain to the superior that I don't want this to blow up and further and hopefully they could mediate the situation before it gets out of hand. Hopefully both parties from the situation could move on and keep that professional level of integrity intact. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? I would slow down and radio to other officers that I crashed and let them know the direction of which the car is traveling and what street and proceed to take a look at the car and civilian I just hit if they have no injury's and do not want a 44 called then I would proceed to continue the chase and stop the armed felons that just committed murder before they kill or injure anyone else. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? I would radio to all officers at the bank and let them know that I am going to respond to the panic button from the LCPD officer. Depending on how many officers we have in the city at the time I would let one of them know that we need to have one LEO remaining at the bank to secure the hostage and to take down all the information from the vehicles so that we can follow up and catch the robbers at a later time if not already apprehended. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? I would arrive at the scene of Grove Street I would proceed to pull the vehicle over and asking for there ID and drivers license, I would ask them what they are currently up to where they are going where they are coming from and what they are doing today. I then would explain to them the reason of the stoppage of reasonable suspicion that they might be selling the drugs and that this is a high crime area known for selling drugs. If the driver got scared of me looking future into the situation and proceeded to flee and I caught him it would give me grounds to search him and his vehicle for fleeing. Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
