  1. What is your character name? Scotty GG What is your Discord username? Callsign nomad#3454 Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? To serve and protect the residents of San Andreas, what separates me from the other candidates is that I was prior marine just returned from overseas i have a strong moral code and will uphold justice to the best to my abilities. I also have risk management training which will help me deescalate any situation. In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? State law enforcement patrols and investigates the whole state whereas local law enforcement patrols the city or county they are assigned to. This is done to make smooth agency jurisdiction lines and prevent any delays that could prevent an investigation from moving further because of restrictions on local police operations. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? Always preservation of life because you can always catch a criminal another day, but you only have one life why risk someone's life over a criminal that's what separates us from criminals we take the preservation of life more seriously. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? My course of action that I believe to be the best would be to go to the next person in the chain of command and explain the situation and seek a calm resolution. The only reason id go above the corporal is because this has gone beyond a professional level. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? I'm not leading the pursuit, so I'd again verify that the occupants of the vehicle are again okay by getting EMS out to verify that they are indeed okay then after the occupants comes the car make sure that their car is indeed indeed fine. Then after I'd have a third-party unit record the accident for insurance calms before returning to my prior task. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? The scenario currently in front of me is primarily the protection of life, thus if I have units that can protect the LCPD officer and I have hostages, I will advocate for the negotiation of their release. If I am not the first trooper or officer on the scene, I will wait until they are safe and equipped to handle the problem before asking for permission to leave the robbery scene or go help the LCPD officer who is in trouble. As I previously stated, I'm going to make an effective choice that is entirely concerned with protecting life and safety, and I can't do that without considering the situation, asking myself why, and giving an explanation for any decisions and actions I take. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? I would arrive with my lights and sirens turned off to avoid alerting any possible criminals in the area , making sure they cannot flee before I arrive. As and when I arrive , I would attempt to pull over the vehicle for questioning as I have reasonable suspicion they are Involved in the narcotics trafficking however I do not have the right to search them as I do not have probable cause due to my lack of evidence I.e. seeing a handoff. I could briefly detain the suspect due to my reasonable suspicion and question them. If they suspect is to flee , I would begin chasing the suspect with lights and sirens due to them fleeing the scene and I would request for some additional units to help me. Due to the suspects fleeing from the scene this would give me the right to search them if they pulled over or their vehicle was disabled in the chase due to them fleeing from officers. Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
