Romani Rockets grew up in Liberty City, born into a family with money. Despite living on the nicer side of town, Romani always had ambitions of the streets. He never knew how his family had gained all of its wealth, but the idea of being handed everything in life without working for it was something Romani despised.

Romani's parents never told him what they did to become so wealthy, which left Romani in a state of unease. This all changed when his parents were both charged with racketeering, leading to them being sentenced 25 years in prison. This all occurred when Romani was a junior in high school. Romani realized that Liberty City was not the place for him, causing him to drop out of school and move out to Lucid City. Romani's ambitions are similar to that of his parents, something that ran in the family's blood: moving bricks. He has no intentions of working 9-to-5's, and hopes to meet people in the city with the same goals.
