  1. What is your character name? Sylas Leos What is your Discord username? Based#0003 Why do you wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol? Furthermore, what separates you from other candidates and makes you an asset compared to other applicants? I wish to join the San Andreas Highway Patrol because I want to experience what it's like to be on the opposite side after playing criminal for so long. What separates me from other candidates is that I have common sense. I have plenty of experience on how the criminal side works, obviously I can't apply this knowledge in city as that is meta gaming, but I know the ins and outs of the crim life. I can provide a good amount of service hours. In your own words, explain what differentiates state law enforcement from local law enforcement, including jurisdictional concerns, and what duties you will expect to perform in the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Additionally, what other qualities do you believe sets the Highway Patrol apart from other agencies that operate in and around Lucid City? San Andreas Highway Patrol (SAHP) is in charge of the entire state where as local is limited to the city. SAHP is responsible for responding to all calls and to condone professional conduct at all times. They are also expected to have a better presence than other forces on the highway. As SAHP is a more serious division, citizens look up to them for their needs and we want to meet those expectations and satisfy our people with professionalism. What is your priority in a situation - preservation of life (including a potential hostage situation) or catching those involved? Why? Preservation of life takes priority in a situation because I have here to serve and protect the citizens of lucid city. Because life is sacred and worth more than putting a criminal behind bars, there will always be another chance to catch criminals but individuals may only have one chance at life. While on patrol as a base-rank Trooper, you find yourself having a few negative run-ins with a Corporal after a minor issue on-duty that you felt was resolved. You feel that your disagreement with them goes beyond professional levels and that perhaps this corporal has a personal issue with you. How would you proceed in dealing with this issue, knowing that a Corporal is a supervisor-in-training and a superior rank to you? I would follow the chain of command and listen to what my superior is saying in the current moment. I would then gather evidence on the corporal holding a personal grudge on me and present my case to their and my superiors so that a resolution may be found peacefully. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a pursuit of armed felons that just committed a murder. You strike a civilian vehicle in the pursuit. Neither vehicle is disabled and there are no injuries. How do you proceed? I will check on the civilian that was stuck in the collision, after I receive conformation that they are ok I will resume the pursuit. If there is another officer that I can have check on them such as a slower vehicle if I am leading, I would ask them to check on the civilian so I may continue leading the chase. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond and arrive on-scene at a bank robbery at the Fleeca Bank on Great Ocean Highway. While setting up a perimeter and beginning to negotiate with the suspects inside, you receive notification of a panic alarm being activated from an LCPD officer. How would you respond? The first thing I would do is to make sure the hostages are safe from the bank, once the hostages are safe and away from the criminals, I would respond to the panic call. While on patrol as a Trooper, you respond to a call of suspicious activity - possible narcotics trafficking - in the vicinity of Grove Street. You observe a heavily tinted vehicle exiting the scene as you arrive and decide to pull the vehicle over for a traffic stop. Potentially citing case law as well as reasonable suspicion and probable cause, what are you empowered to do, and what would you do to investigate? Additionally, if the vehicle were to flee immediately upon sight of you, how would that change things? If I am doing a normal traffic stop with a possible suspicion on the vehicle being involved with the trafficking, I would ask them to lower the window and ask them what they are doing in the area and for their drivers license. After I find out what they are doing in the area, I would run their plates to see if there is any strikes on the vehicle, any warrants, and to make sure the vehicle is being driven by its owner. If the vehicle were to flee, I would call for backup and start a chase. I would then give a call out regarding the vehicle and its occupants, giving a detailed description on both. While in the chase I would call out the direction on where we are heading and continue to feed information to the backup. Do you agree not to ask staff members and/or command staff to look at this application? Yes
